Rich Casino BlackJack Games and Hands

Rich Casino BlackJack Games and Hands The game of Blackjack is a perennial favorite in casinos, both land-based and online. Blackjack combines elements of chance with elements of strategy, to make a game that is easy to learn and challenging to play. Blackjack games can be fast paced, with the cards flipping furiously, or they can be slow, as players try to calculate the odds or even count into the deck. It makes for a unique gaming experience.

What is Blackjack

Blackjack games originated in France, under the name vingt-et-un, or ‘twenty-one.' The name is linked to the aim of the game: each player has to take his hand as close as possible to 21, without going over. Number cards are worth their face value; face cards are worth 10, and the aces are worth 1 or 11, at the player's discretion. In online blackjack, as in all blackjack games, the player is pitted against the dealer, rather than the rest of the table. At Rich Casino, two forms of online blackjack are available: a single hand and a multi-hand version. Players can also choose between "fun" games, or real money blackjack.

Single Hand Blackjack

The single hand blackjack game is just what it sounds like: there is one player, who competes with the dealer. Cards are dealt from an 8-deck shoe. The game includes options to split and double on appropriate hands, and to buy insurance when the dealer shows an ace.

In Blackjack games, splitting is an option when the player is dealt two identical cards. He can split his hand, and draw two new cards, one for each of the original pair. Splitting requires that the player place a new bet, equal to his original wager, to accommodate the second hand. Doubling allows a player to double his bet on the turn of one card. He'll take an automatic hit, but if he wins, he wins double. Insurance is a bet that the dealer will turn a natural blackjack. The player bets half of the original bet when the dealer shows an ace, and if a blackjack turned, the player wins triple the insurance bet.

Multi-Hand Blackjack

Rich Casino's multi-hand blackjack game is identical to the single hand, except that the player has the option to play up to four hands at once. The excitement of real money blackjack only increases when you play multi-hand games.
